Without the blueprints there was nothing for me to do but measure and draw. Lucky for me most of the floors are done in 12 inch tile so it was often a matter of tip-toeing and counting.</span></div><span style="font-family:verdana;"><div align="left"><br />While I worked quietly on my drawings I had time to let my dreams run free. The Centre is such a great building! Clean and in excellent repair it is easy to imagine it full of a variety of activities. </div><div align="left"><br />As I walked down silent hallways I imagined people in Tina’s Healing Centre; others doing yoga in the gym; some working in the Internet cafe over a cup of latte content in knowing that their children are being cared for in the daycare centre. Maybe the Photography Club is meeting in a seminar room while others are in the shop learning how to make silver jewelry.</span></div><span style="font-family:verdana;"><div align="left"><br />I really believe all of this ~ and more ~ is possible, even likely over a period of time. It will happen because this community wants it to happen!</div><div align="left"><br />Today on the news we hear of yet another school being bull-dozed to the ground. What a waste! I am so proud of this community that decided once more to take its destiny in its hands. Remember when the old skating rink went down under a load of snow? When the community met there were those who felt there was nothing our small community could do but the majority felt we should build a new rink. Today we have a paid-for rink that is used by families in our community and beyond.</div><div align="left"><br />Hugh and I were new to the community during the rink-building decision and we learned a lot about this community as we saw those events unfold. It was that experience that encouraged me to be involved in the development of an Opportunity Centre in the school building. In this community we do not need to be afraid of steep hills to be climbed.
